The Mediterranean is having a moment — and honestly, it never really stops. Saint-Tropez, Portofino, Ibiza: they're beloved for a reason, and every summer they fill up early. But when a client tells us they want the warm water and long dinners without the wait at the tender dock, we have a lot of fun helping them find something a little quieter.
What we hear most often is a wish for privacy — not because clients want to hide, but because a real vacation means putting the phone down and enjoying the people you came with. That's the brief we love working on. And the good news is the Mediterranean is enormous. There is always another cove, another village, another villa where the pace slows down.
Where we're spending time this year
A few regions have become favorites for our team, and for the families we work with. Each has its own personality, and we're happy to help you figure out which one fits the trip you're imagining.
Northern Sardinia, just past Costa Smeralda
Porto Cervo is wonderful, and it's also busy. A short cruise north opens up a string of quiet coves and small harbors that feel like a different pace entirely. Our captains and local partners know these waters well, and we can put together an itinerary that flows easily whether you're traveling with friends, kids, or a bit of both.
The Dalmatian Coast
Hvar and Dubrovnik are gorgeous, but the smaller islands between them are where a lot of our clients end up falling in love. Warm, clear water, generous hosts, and villa estates that have been welcoming guests for generations. Croatia has quickly become one of our favorite recommendations.
The Peloponnese
If Mykonos and Santorini feel like the greatest hits, the Peloponnese is the deep cut worth exploring. Small fishing towns, family-run tavernas, and villas that operate almost entirely on relationships. That's where we come in — we know the estate managers, and we're glad to make the introductions.
A few things worth thinking about early
- Helicopter and boat transfers. If you want to move easily between islands, it helps to plan the logistics in advance. We can line up the permits and the crews so the day just flows.
- Villa staff who know how to host well. A great house is only as good as the team running it. We work with estates whose staff have been in place for years and know how to make guests genuinely comfortable.
- Charter captains who love traveling with families. Little details matter — shaded spots for a nap, a swim ladder that actually works for kids, a lunch stop the whole family will remember.
- Cars and drivers at every stop. Nothing fancy required. Just a friendly face at the dock who knows where you're going and what you like.
The honest reality
Most of the best options aren't listed anywhere. They come from long-standing relationships, and they get booked months in advance. That's where ROSTR can help — we've spent years building the network, so you don't have to.
If next summer is on your mind, this is a great time to start the conversation. And if it's not on your mind yet, we're happy to plant the seed.
